Where the money goes

Every settled dollar, in the order it is handled.

What happens to each $1?

A $1 contribution doesn't mean $1 goes into the creator's pocket.

Payment processing takes a significant portion of transactions this small. The experiment also has operating costs that may include website and app services, hosting, security, payment infrastructure, promotion and advertising, professional services, refunds, development, and—if the experiment grows—employees and other expenses needed to operate it.

10% of successfully settled gross contributions is committed to the Give-Back Fund.

After the Give-Back commitment, payment-processing fees, taxes, operating expenses, promotion, and other project costs, the remaining funds belong to the creator and may personally benefit the creator.

For perspective, on a typical $1 U.S. card contribution, payment processing can take roughly 33¢. Another 10¢ is committed to Give-Back. That leaves roughly 57¢ before taxes and the costs of running and growing the experiment. This example is illustrative; actual amounts vary with payment method, processor pricing, and other factors.

This isn't an investment, loan, lottery, or promise of financial return. Participants receive a Human Number and become part of the experiment, but receive no equity, ownership, revenue share, or claim to the remaining funds.

10% Give-Back Commitment

10% Give-Back Commitment: We commit 10% of successfully settled gross contributions to helping other people or eligible community projects. The 10% is calculated before payment-processing fees. Refunded, reversed, disputed, charged-back, fraudulent, or otherwise uncollected transactions are excluded. This project is not currently a charity, and contributions are not represented as tax-deductible charitable donations.

Community voting

Community voting may only apply to designated Give-Back Fund decisions or harmless campaign features. It must never control the creator's remaining 90%.

Order of operations

1. A contribution settles successfully. 2. 10% of settled gross is accrued to the Give-Back Fund, calculated before processing fees. 3. Payment-processing fees, taxes, refunds, chargebacks and operating costs are deducted. 4. The remaining portion is handled as described above. 5. Totals are published in the public transparency figures.

What contributors receive

A permanent Human Number, a share card, achievements, and a place in the public record. Contributors do not receive ownership, control, equity, revenue share, or any promise of financial return.
